Any professional or practitioner of artistic creation or research can become a resident of the CAN.
Artistic creation: visual arts, literature, music, installations and performances.
Research: researchers in the fields of natural and social sciences such as botany, geology, biology, ecology, history, geography, anthropology, etc., or any other field of study that requires concentration and silence, free from interruptions.
Groups: The Centre is also particularly suited to small groups collaborating on a common project: university practical work, seminars, workshops, meetings, etc.
Individuals or groups interested in a work residence at the Centre d’Art i Natura de Farrera should send us:
a) an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae with personal details (in the case of a group, only the details of the person in charge of the project)
b) an example of recent work (photographs, catalogues, publications, articles, CDs, etc.)
c) an explanation or outline of the project to be undertaken during the residence
d) the desired dates for your stay
Information for residents
CAN offers spaces that are ideal for working, as well as freedom for residents to establish their own daily rhythm in an atmosphere conducive to creativity. They will also receive personalised attention and backup and, if they so desire, an introduction to the natural setting. Unless they make other arrangements in advance, residents are required to arrange their own breakfast and lunch, but the CAN provides dinner every day (except Sunday) in the communal dining room in the Bastida, at 9pm (8pm in winter). This dinner is the only obligation in the residents’ timetable.
Residents should bring the materials they require for their work as there are no specialist shops in the vicinity, although it should be emphasised that the setting abounds in organic and mineral materials.
On arrival in Farrera, residents should ask for the Centre’s directors, who will be happy to show them their lodgings and work space. We wish you a happy and productive stay!
